No rankings are assigned in the TDC competitions; listings are categorically alphabetical, of course!

FontShop presents the results for the 100 Best Fonts, who brought together several top designers and typographers to determine the greatest fonts ever. Either you like it or not, Helvetica is number one.

Communication Arts: Open Submissions

Visual Typography
You are invited to submit projects for possible inclusion in the Visual Typography feature that will appear in the May/June 2007 issue of Communication Arts.

Submission criteria
We’re looking for design projects where typography is used as the primary visual element. The work must be recent (within the last two years) and should not have been previously shown in one of our annuals or the Exhibit section. There is no cost to submit entries for consideration in the Visual Typography feature.

Submission material
Please submit the actual printed package, digital file or hard copy printout.
Please include a brief description of the project, along with contact information, including an e-mail address. If your project is selected, we will contact you for reproduction materials and complete creative credits.

Submission deadline
Submissions must be received no later than Thursday, February 1, 2007

TDC2 2006 - Winning Entries

It´s now online the result of the Type Directors Club 2006 Contest.

Update: This is very old news, i´m sorry for posting this with such a bad timing.
If you are interested in participating in the 2007 TDC2 competition, the deadline is January 12 2007.

TDC: Now accepting entries.

The annual typography and typeface design competitions are accepting entries. Final deadline is Friday, 12 January 2007, with judging in January 2007 at FIT in New York.

Winning entries in the TDC competitions will be published in Typography 28, the Annual of the Type Directors Club. Designed by Number Seventeen, the Annual is published by Collins Design, an imprint of HarperCollinsPublishers, and distributed worldwide.

Winning entries will also be exhibited worldwide in the TDC traveling exhibitions, as well as at the New York opening of the TDC exhibition in the summer of 2007.
